Paints – (Windsor Newton Cotman is a good student grade)
Minimum Required -
Gamboge Yellow
Alizarin Crimson
Ultramarine Blue
Viridian Green
Burnt Sienna
Optional -
Payne’s Gray
Cerulean Blue
Purple Lake
Cadmium Red Light
Prussian Blue
Brushes
¾” or 1” Flat (wash)
#8 or #10 Round
Palette
Any plastic palette that has room for mixing space will work; the 10” round one is good
Paper
11 x 15 Strathmore Watercolor (cold press) pad or
5 sheets of Arches 90 lb or 140 lb cold press (22 x 30 cut into quarters)
1 sheet of Blotter paper
Water container – any container big enough to dip the brushes in and hold about a cup of water,
Sponge – a small natural sponge works best
A Board large enough to hold a half sheet of watercolor paper and clips if you don’t use a watercolor pad.
