Instructor: Becky Stromberg

Bio: Becky Stromberg is a Seattle area artist who enjoys working in mixed media collage, encaustic painting, and making jewelry using wire wrapping, metalsmithing and wire crochet techniques.   Born and raised in Minnesota, Becky attended college and graduate school in Chicago, where she worked as a reading specialist for 13 years before moving to Seattle in 2001.  In addition to all things creative, Becky enjoys traveling, camping and kayaking with her husband, gardening and spending time with friends.

Becky is a self taught “basement artist” who learns through books, workshops and experimenting with tantalizing materials.  She loves to share her studio space with friends and always has a project or two (or 10) ready to pack up and take with her to create wherever she goes.

She has taught art workshops in a variety of settings including providing quality creative experiences for the elderly and those with Alzheimer’s.  Most recently, she has enjoyed the opportunity to teach both mixed media collage and encaustic collage at the Grunewald Guild, an artist’s retreat center near Leavenworth, WA.
